PF Mar 2015 - Potential Topics - UPDATED

Here are the two potential topics for NSDA March 2015 Public Forum Debate.

Voting is now open on the NSDA website for students and coaches.


Resolved: In the United States, students should be guaranteed two years of free tuition to a community or technical college.

Resolved: Publicly-funded colleges and universities in the United States should abolish the Greek system from their campuses.

TOPIC AREA: Higher Education

Resolved: In the United States, students should be guaranteed two years of free tuition to a community or technical college.
(425 schools and 1,096 students voted for the resolution. The winning resolution received 72% of the school vote and 66% of the student vote.)

  1. Genuine question--does con even have a chance with this? This topic seems insanely pro-skewed to me.

    1. We struggled with a similar resolution in Jan. 2015. The proponents weighed-in heavily on the benefits of education vs the cost. But, in this resolution, it is someone other than the students bearing the cost. This allows Con to cite all kinds of impacts on the economy and burdens on citizens who may not have kids or those on fixed incomes, or similar arguments.
